Description:
A little over a year ago, Great Lakes Recovery Centers Adolescent Services Center relocated to a picturesque 26 acre retreat in Negaunee, located in Michigan’s rustic and beautiful Upper Peninsula. Continuing a 30 year program history of adolescent addiction treatment, our new premier facility offers semi-private rooms with bathrooms and showers, a peaceful courtyard, comfortable client lounges, a quaint library, on-site classroom and other amenities in the interest of providing a relaxing, comforting recovery environment for our clients. In addition to the many facility improvements, we are also excited to offer Adolescent Outpatient Services. If you are not familiar with us, Great Lakes Recovery Centers is a private non-profit 501 (c) 3 treatment program with the philosophy that addiction is a disease that affects the individual, family members, and community. The treatment of this illness can best be addressed with an array of services provided by caring professionals involving the individual, family and community. It is through this comprehensive approach that long term recovery is strengthened. We offer both residential and outpatient services. Upon your arrival at our Adolescent Services Center, you will be greeted by one of our professionals and after a guided paperwork session your teen will immediately start orientation to get settled in and break the ice with the other residents. Most often, another resident will take on an active role in helping your teen get acclimated. Their stay begins with the development of an individualized treatment plan designed to fit their unique circumstances and involves the family when it comes time to make decisions about things like schooling and living situations. The goal is to set your teen up to achieve a successful, life-long recovery. Upon admission, a medical history and evaluation is completed. Based upon information given, referrals are made to fulfill all client medical/dental needs such a physical exam, dental check-up, immunization review, medication review, eye exam, etc. in addition to any unexpected needs such as illness or injury. A Case Manager coordinates all appointments, insurance, and transportation needs. A Registered Nurse is also on staff and available for consult, medication management, and coordination of care with Primary Care Physician as well as managing withdrawal symptoms. Two physicians also provide “house calls†to GLRC twice per month in a private medical exam room.
