Description:
Substance Abuse Services provide care for individuals and their families who are experiencing substance abuse issues and who meet the criteria for outpatient services but do not require residential care. Services include individual and group counseling for clients with substance abuse and co-occurring disorders, as well as for individuals affected by the substance abuse of a loved one. Services are individualized and designed to meet each client in multiple phases of recovery from early intervention, active recovery and relapse prevention. Sweetser also provides evaluation and treatment services to individuals involved with the state's Driver Education and Evaluation Program (DEEP). Therapeutic approaches employed can include: short term, brief therapy; family and affected others therapy; addiction; early stabilization; relapse groups; individual and group adolescent therapy. Substance abuse groups provide both therapeutic intervention as well as psycho-education about the addiction process and the affects on family members, co-workers and friends. All services are individualized and tailored to each clients' needs, including the discharge process. When the client, and/or family, and the clinician reach concensus that identified treatment goals have been satisfactorily met, discharge from services takes place. If any additional services are needed, the clinician will work to arrange those before ending treatment with the client.
