Description:
The Substance Abuse Services and Corrections Mental Health programs of Community Mental Health Authority of Clinton, Eaton and Ingham Counties (CMHA-CEI) offer a 40 bed residential treatment program designed to help men with drug and alcohol problems establish and maintain a drug free and crime free lifestyle. The House of Commons has been a well respected leader in substance use disorder treatment for more than 30 years. The length of stay is up to three months and includes, for probationers, a six month follow-up day program. This program is available to men 18 years and older, who are referred by themselves; CMHA CEI CA, Michigan Department of Corrections (MDOC), Office of Community Corrections (OCC); Riverhaven Coordinating Agency (RCA); or Southwest Michigan Behavioral Health (SWMBH). Referrals are also accepted from other sources such as courts, attorneys and family. Individuals involved with the courts must sign a release of information to the court upon admission. The program provides a multi-disciplinary team of staff who monitor the facility on a 24 hour basis. Treatment staff include a Program Supervisor, Mental Health Therapists (Masters Level), Client Services Specialists (Bachelors Level), Registered Nurse, Dietary Technician and ancillary staff. All staff have experience working with individuals who have substance use disorders and those in the corrections system and are trained in cognitive behavioral treatment.
