Description:
Our Sid Martin Bridge House is located in Gainesville and accepts referrals from throughout the region. For people with a serious addictive disorder, it offers an individually tailored treatment program that simultaneously addresses treatment and rehabilitation and planning for a drug free life upon discharge in a facility that is staffed 24/7. The program provides consultation with a physician who is Board Certified in Addiction Medicine as well as trained counseling staff and recovery specialists who support residents’ work toward recovery. Bridge House also has specialized groups for individuals with a co-occurring serious mental illness. Residents participate in group, individual, and family therapies, based on an individualized assessment of needs and issues that contribute to the addiction. Because our services are comprehensive, individuals at the Bridge House program can also receive psychiatric consultation. Residents can also participate in the Challenges Ropes Course to build self-confidence and break the isolation that comes with addiction. The length of the admission varies based on the individual’s severity of addiction, needs, and access to supports in the community. After care services are provided to participants. Within Bridge House, Mothers Intensive Supportive Treatment (MIST) offers a separate unit for pregnant women with an addictive disorder. Women are admitted while pregnant and receive prenatal care, parenting classes, employment and housing assistance. In addition to the full array of Bridge House treatment groups, their partners, spouses, and other children receive treatment as needed. Mothers remain in the program after delivery to ensure the safe transition of mother and baby to the community.
