Description:
The complex at "840/850" consists of services and housing able to satisfy the needs of up to twenty-nine men and their children if necessary. The ninety day program works with the time proven "12 step program of recovery" as well as individual and group counseling, family dynamics, grief and loss, parenting, self awareness and family counseling. Here the men are just finishing a group counseling session in the living room of "840". They are also counseled on subjects including anger management, communication skills, coping skills, disease concepts, domestic violence and dual diagnosis. The Twelve Steps play an important part in the ongoing recovery process as well as the sober living programs, relapse prevention and aftercare. Children can come to treatment and live with you in your own "private" quarters where there is licensed child care available as well as an on-site child and adult psycologist. The home at "856" can care for up to twenty-three women and their children in a very comfortable and safe setting. This ninety day program uses the same "12 step program of recovery" as well as individual and group counseling, family dynamics, grief and loss, parenting, self awareness, family counseling, sober living programs, relapse prevention and aftercare. Both AA and Alanon meet at these three facilities. Our 14th Street facility features relapse prevention, aftercare and sober living where up to twenty-four women and children make the journey from treatment back into society in this transitional care facility. Both AA and Alanon meet at 14th Street. Don't be surprised or alarmed if Phoebe greets you at the gate at 14th Street. One dog who had lost her way, is now enjoying a life amoung the sober and happy residents in transitional, apartment like living. 14th Street is just like home for many residents and makes the task of finding and establishing gainfull employment easier as the stresses of everyday living ease with their new found sobriety. The "Orange Show" property houses eight women and children in the front house and provides a park like setting in the rear of the lot for the licensed childcare facility that can manage up to fifteen kids of all ages from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm daily. With her on site office at "Orange Show", our licensed Therapist can provide many services for the kids and their families. There are plenty of activities to keep the children busy and learning during the day including swimming, jungle gym and painting. The childcare services at "Orange Show" are not limited to families staying at one of the other houses. Another recreational activity at "Orange Show"is chalk painting which can quickly turn into another fine game that builds strong minds and bodies. The "Pershing House" sleeps six men for up to six months of transitional living. The garage in back houses a fine meeting room. Located behind our main office on Arrowhead Avenue, Pershing is our newest facility and is a beehive of sober activity.
