I was in my thirties when I started to question my drinking. I was health conscious, thought I was drinking more than I should and if I didn't deal with it I could even become an alcoholic. I was constantly worried about it. But on the other hand, I didn't think it was serious enough to stop altogether. At the time, my only options were to continue drinking or stop and go to AA. Even though I knew there were millions of people just like me - problem drinkers outnumber alcoholics four to one - there was no program to teach you how to drink sensibly and appropriately. And make alcohol less important in your life. So with my background in psychology and desire to fix my own drinking problem, I developed the Drink/Link Moderate Drinking Program in 1988. Since then I've helped thousands of drinkers to drink less, modify their drinking habits and attitudes and prevent alcoholism. I've also written five books on the subject: 7 Weeks to Safe Social Drinking: How to Effectively Moderate Your Alcohol Intake, Moderate Drinking - Naturally! Herbs and Vitamins to Control Your Drinking, Moderate Drinking My Way, The Moderate Drinking Made Easy Workbook and Beat Binge Drinking. Drink/Link is a commonsense program - first, you learn five safe-drinking guidelines, then you learn proven behavior management strategies and techniques to help you stay within those guidelines. If you stick to the program I GUARANTEE you'll drink less. No meetings, doctors, counseling, prescriptions or belief in a higher power are required for you to succeed. Over 80% of the drinkers who have completed the program have either cut their drinking in half or significantly reduced their consumption. The Self-Study Program is an easy "first step" to healthier drinking habits you complete on your own and the Telephone Program is more intensive.
