Details: The Women and Children Residential Treatment Program - Seminole County is a 4 to 6 month treatment facility for homeless, substance dependent women who are motivated to gain the skills and support they need to live in recovery. Substance-abusing women age 18 and older will be considered based on clinical appropriateness and bed availability. The program uses a holistic approach to substance abuse treatment which integrates traditional modalities of treatment, such as individual, group, and family therapy, with meditation and movement therapy, such as yoga. Groups focus on recovery issues, domestic violence, anger management, coping skills, and decision making skills. Vocational services, housing, psychiatric care, and physical health issues are addressed. Emphasis is also put on learning and practicing appropriate leisure and recreational skills.
