Details: The SMA Putnam Adult Residential Treatment (PART) program is a male-only, short-term (Level I), intensive program designed to assist participants with learning the tools necessary to facilitate stability in their lives. The program philosophy of the 6-bed facility is to create an atmosphere of safety and care, and to promote the stability of daily living in recovery through therapeutic interaction. Co-occurring capable, the program is able to offer limited mental health evaluation, counseling interventions and the management of psychotropic medications. The SMA Putnam Detoxification Unit is a licensed 8-bed facility, primarily serving the residents of Putnam County. Individuals receive medications appropriate for their presenting problems, group and individual counseling and discharge planning. Alcohol and prescription drug abuse accounts for the majority of all admissions. The unit is staffed with 24-hours per day nursing care (Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner, Registered and Licensed Practical Nurses), and other support staff. Referral to appropriate care post-detoxification is a primary goal of the program.
