Details: BRS Inc. is a private nonprofit agency in Bakersfield, California that offers residential-based treatment for adult men and women struggling with alcoholism and/or addiction. Our programs offer proven 12-Step recovery principles in non-medical, social model settings. We have a men’s program (Jason’s Retreat); a women’s program (Capistrano Community for Women) a program for pregnant women (Capistrano-Lincoln Street Retreat for Perinatal) and an Intensive co-ed outpatient program (Jason’s Retreat Intensive Outpatient). Jason’s retreat currently serves 30 adult men at a facility on the east side of Bakersfield, CA. Activities center is the “Big House”, our original two story house, it is where the clients reside and also includes a large dining room and community kitchen. We also lease single-family homes nearby, for sober living and have classrooms and counseling offices centrally located. Our staff provides support services including transportation to and from professional appointments, outside counseling, schools and child visits. Treatment stays very depending on funding sources from 45 days to 120 days. It is a busy time, with classes 4 times daily on weekdays. Clients also attend 12-step meetings almost daily with their fellow clients. All of our programs are 12-Step based, social model programs that emphasize accountability and individual responsibility. Clients study the 12-Step program pioneered by Alcoholics Anonymous and now used by Narcotics Anonymous and other groups, with special emphasis on the first four steps. Clients attend daily meetings, find 12-Step sponsors and build strong 12-Step support groups. Jason’s has a staff of four full time CAADAC trained counselors for our residential program, and others who work with clients in our Intensive Outpatient program, housed at 504 Bernard St.
