Details: Larry began his career in the addiction field in 1980 at Hazelden Foundation in Center City, MN with work for the Hazelden Educational Services and then as an Employee Assistance Program consultant. Larry traveled the U.S. reviewing and contracting with evaluation centers to serve the employees and families of large corporations such as Northern Natural Gas, Burlington Northern-Santa Fe Railroad, Piper Jaffray, and many others. In addition, he trained the management and employees in methods of using the EAP. Larry completed graduate studies for Alcohol & Drug Education at the University of Minnesota with high distinction, interning at Hazelden, Abbott-Northwestern Hospital, Target Corporation, and St. Paul-Ramsey Medical Center in St. Paul, Minnesota. He was then hired as a counselor to help develop the dual disorder chemical dependency treatment program at St. Paul-Ramsey. At Ramsey, all of his patients had psychiatric problems in addition to chemical dependency. Larry was then hired to design, implement and direct a new outpatient treatment program at St. Francis Medical Center in northwestern Minnesota. Following a year of successful programming at St. Francis Medical Center, in 1985 Larry opened his first outpatient treatment program in North Dakota called Pathways Recovery Centers. He then opened Springtime Counseling Center in Fargo, North Dakota in 1997 serving patients in both North Dakota and Minnesota. Larry now operates Springtime Counseling Center in Indianapolis, Indiana, the home-base for www.MyDuiGuy.com.
