Details: The CLARE Foundation is a nonprofit organization providing effective and compassionate treatment, recovery, and prevention services for alcoholism and substance abuse to individuals, families, and the community. Founded in 1970 by a group of citizens concerned about the homeless alcoholics gathering on the beaches of Santa Monica and Venice, the nonprofit has grown from a small storefront operation to a continuum of care with 11 different programs in several Westside locations. The Drug Court Program serves as a court-approved alternative to jail time for nonviolent drug offenders charged with possession or being under the influence of an illegal substance. The Drug Court Program serves 60 clients annually.
