Details: The Right to Recovery program is a long-term, non-traditional harm reduction option for adults with a history of substance use disorders. This program is designed to help individuals who have participated in or completed residential or outpatient treatment in the past and need additional support. Treatment begins with a comprehensive assessment, and a client-centered treatment plan is created around the following: Educational presentations; Treatment groups five days a week; One-on-one counseling; Collaboration with a multidisciplinary team that may include a counselor, case manager, nursing staff, physician and probation officer; Recreational activities. Over the course of the one-year program, participants will identify areas leading to relapse and develop new thinking patterns, address physical and mental health needs, interact with sober people in social and recreational activities and learn lifestyle changes needed for recovery. Goals for the program include increasing lengths of abstinence from mood-altering substances, improving decision-making skills and enhancing participants’ quality of life.
