Details: The Salvation Army holds that no one is beyond hope. Each person has infinite value. The Salvation Army Harbor Light Centers seek to bring hope to those who have fallen captive to substance abuse. Each center provides detoxification services, residential treatment, transitional housing, and outpatient treatment for men and women. Treatment includes group and individual counseling, education, skills for managing grief and anger, and training for independent living and meaningful employment. The development of life skills such as anger and money management is an important part of the program. The typical treatment plan is six months, with 55 to 60 percent of clients completing the program. For those involved in the optional religious component, the chance of completion increases to 90 percent.
