Details: The mission of the Substance Use Disorder Services (SUDS) of the Detroit VA Medical Center is to provide comprehensive, individualized and state-of-the-art treatment for Veterans experiencing Substance Use Disorders and related problems consistent with the mission of the Mental Health Service and this medical center. Veterans seeking treatment for chemical dependency are encouraged to visit the Seventh Floor (Blue Side) Reception Desk between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. on Monday, Wednesday or Friday. You will be seen by a triage worker who will help determine the appropriate services for you. You may also see an Intake Worker, who will review your history, treatment needs, and start the appropriate plan of action designed on an individual basis. If medical assistance is necessary, you will be referred to a doctor or nurse to complete an assessment.
