Details: Residential treatment is a highly structured program designed to assist in beginning your recovery process. Treatment provides you with the tools necessary for you to gain an understanding of the disease of chemical dependency and to develop the skills necessary to establish a drug-free life. The residential program can be short-term, thirty (30) days, up to long term, ninety (90) days. Your progress will be evaluated in increments of 30 days. During your stay, patients will meet with their counselor on at least a weekly basis to discuss treatment planning, homework assignments, and group attendance. A Residential Counselor helps to rebuild the lives of patients while helping the patients manage the negative aspects of their drug and alcohol use. QBH uses evidence based interventions to educate and support patients in developing the insight, awareness, and skills necessary to transform their lives. Counselors’ responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Meeting with patients to evaluate substance abuse problems and health concerns; Identifying issues related to substance use to create a treatment plan; Educate patients on healthy coping skills; Crisis Intervention; Assist patients in securing or re-establish a career; Helping patients apply for medical insurance; Case Management; Monitoring the stage of change the patient is in to promote sobriety; Setting aftercare appointments with the DWMHA for transitional housing and outpatient; Providing continuity of care with all legal entities, medical establishments and QBH staff. Patients are assisted in making social, emotional, and environmental changes necessary to create a healthy and drug-free lifestyle. Treatment modalities include education, individual therapy, group therapy, family therapy, recreational therapy, stress management programs, Psychotherapy, medicinal support as needed, and 12-step support groups including Alcoholic Anonymous and Narcotic Anonymous.
