Details: Whether you're a concerned physician, agency, employer or family member, it is sometimes unclear what steps to take once you have identified a person whose abuse of alcohol or other substances is problematic. The Prevention and Recovery Center at Mount Auburn Hospital is here to help, featuring intervention and treatment services. We also offer treatment solutions for those with compulsive gambling issues. After the initial intake appointment, our treatment team of licensed therapists works together to evaluate and assess the problems of each individual to determine the most effective treatment plan. Treatment may consist of therapy groups including those focusing specifically on the issues of relapse prevention, co-dependency, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), problems that also exist along with substance abuse such as anxiety and depression, and anger management. It can also include individual therapy sessions, psychopharmacology evaluation and monitoring, and the establishment of a community education and support system. We offer individualized treatment for men and women, as well as adolescents. We also aid in the execution of interventions, which are processes of presenting in a concerned, thoughtful and deliberate manner the consequences of an individual's alcohol or substance abuse.
