Details: Mountain Manor Treatment Center at Baltimore offers a highly specialized and unique continuum of services for adolescents ages 13 through 17 and young adults ages 18 through 25. The adolescents and young adults have their own separate unit and unique clinical programs. Mountain Manor’s residential program was designated an “exemplary†program by the national Center for Substance Abuse Treatment (CSAT). Qualified professionals with particular expertise in working with young people provide evidence-based treatment approaches, medical care, detoxification, substance abuse treatment, and mental health services including psychiatric evaluation and treatment, motivational enhancement and relapse prevention strategies. We place particular focus on dual diagnosis evaluation and treatment because it is extremely important to identify and address the issues of co-occurring mental health problems with substance-involved youth. We recognize that there is no one approach that works for everyone, and our clinicians are highly skilled in the successful engagement of youth who have been resistant to treatment and who require new, highly individualized and solution-oriented approaches. The Mountain Manor School offers the residents the opportunity to receive educational assessments, education, school credits, and tutorial and educational advocacy services during their stay. We treat youth and families throughout the region, including Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, Pennsylvania and the District of Columbia. For those who live close enough, we offer a seamless transition from residential to outpatient continuing care. For those who live outside the catchment area, we coordinate outpatient step-down care with our extensive network of local providers. Transportation is provided for those local adolescents and young adults in need at no cost to the patient. Mountain Manor has been a national leader in the use of innovative approaches to the treatment of opioid addictions using safe and effective relapse prevention medications in combination with individual, group and family counseling. We have had extensive success using both Buprenorphine (Suboxone) and extended release Naltrexone (Vivitrol). Our Youth Opioid Treatment Program recently won a prestigious iAward for innovation in behavioral health care, one of ten awarded nationally from the State Associations of Addiction Services (SAAS) and the National Treatment Improvement Center (NiaTx).
