Details: Located on the campus of Willis-Knighton South, the Institute for Behavioral Medicine offers inpatient, partial hospitalization and outpatient programs. Services include geriatric psychiatric care, adult psychiatry and individual and family therapy. The Institute’s Addiction Recovery Center has an excellent record in the treatment of substance abuse among adults with inpatient medical detox, outpatient and evening programs. The Institute’s team includes psychiatrists, other physicians, psychologists, licensed counselors, social workers, nurses, occupational therapists and family therapists. Dependence on drugs or alcohol can be disastrous. It threatens the life and safety of the abusers, their families, and, often, the community. In spite of the frustration and confusion associated with these problems, it is important to know that recovery from addiction can, and does, happen regularly...and with long-term positive results. Our Intensive Outpatient Program serves both patients and their families as they learn to cope with and recover from alcoholism and addiction to other drugs. Our program provides both group and family therapy, and focuses on relapse prevention, healthy coping skills, and communication skills needed for successful recovery. Depending on the needs of the individual, our staff also provides treatment for depression, anxiety, grief, post-traumatic stress, bipolar disorder and other mood and behavioral issues. The Addiction Recovery Center offers a no-charge assessment prior to admission. Treatment may begin at any level of care, from early detox to support after inpatient rehab, depending on the severity of the addiction.
