Details: In November 1970, the Northwest Regional Center for Addictive Disorders (NWRCAD) began as the Shreveport Alcoholism Clinic and Counseling Service. The Shreveport Alcoholism Clinic and Counseling Service opened for business January 1971. In 1983, Shreveport Alcoholism Clinic and Counseling Service moved to Bossier, consolidate with the Bossier City Substance Abuse Clinic, and then named Bossier-Shreveport Substance Abuse Clinic. In March 1989, the Bossier-Shreveport Substance Abuse Clinic moved to 6244 Greenwood Road in west Shreveport adjacent to the Pines Treatment Center as the Northwest Regional Alcohol and Drug Abuse Clinic. In July of 1999, the Clinic moved to its present location as Northwest Regional Center for Addictive Disorders. Our outreach programs provide outpatient substance abuse treatment services for Louisiana residents living in Caddo, Bossier, DeSoto, Red River, Bienville, Claiborne, and Webster Parishes. We also make referrals to inpatient facilities.
