Details: Alcoholism and drug addiction are chronic illnesses. They can destroy families, end careers and ultimately, ruin lives. But there is effective treatment available at JADAC because that is our specialty. The Jefferson Alcohol and Drug Abuse Center (JADAC) is an 80-bed facility that treats adults with addictions and their families. Since its inception in 1975 as Louisville’s first specialty hospital dedicated to the treatment of alcoholism and other drug addictions, JADAC has served more than 175,000 persons with addictions and their families. The focus at JADAC is on helping people accept that they or a loved one have a chronic illness and help them achieve a stable recovery. A healthy, happy and productive life for the recovering individual and his or her family is the goal of every JADAC program.
