Details: On January, 25, 1980, a combined board leadership held its first official meeting of the newly formed Center for Alcohol & Drug Services, Inc. That was the beginning of a distinguished history combining efforts and shared success of multiple professionals and individuals dedicated to the prevention, assessment and treatment of substance abuse in the Quad Cities and surrounding communities. The organization is affectionately known as “CADS,†an acronym that implies familiarity without further explanation. Evaluation: Staff assess individual substance use and make recommendations regarding the appropriate diagnostic impression and level of treatment, if any, required to meet the individual needs. Outpatient Treatment: Outpatient Services include both intensive and extended levels of care. Both levels of care provide individual, group, and family counseling. Length of stay varies according to individual needs. Continuing Care: This is an extended program with on-going support for adults who complete a primary treatment program. Women’s Services: The Women and Children’s Services program provides ancillary and supportive services designed to guide and empower recovering women and their children.
