Details: On January, 25, 1980, a combined board leadership held its first official meeting of the newly formed Center for Alcohol & Drug Services, Inc. That was the beginning of a distinguished history combining efforts and shared success of multiple professionals and individuals dedicated to the prevention, assessment and treatment of substance abuse in the Quad Cities and surrounding communities. The organization is affectionately known as “CADS,†an acronym that implies familiarity without further explanation. CADS Country Oaks Facility supports a Medically Monitored Detoxification unit. This unit has a twenty-four hour nursing staff on duty. Clients are seen daily by a physician to monitor the detoxification process. The Halfway House program is for individuals in need of ongoing placement due to either increased potential for continued use/relapse after primary substance abuse treatment. The Adult Residential Treatment program is designed for individuals who need more of a structured setting than outpatient treatment services can provide.
