Details: PEER Services is a 501c(3) organization whose mission is to eliminate substance use and the problems it causes for individuals, families, and communities through collaborative, high-quality prevention and treatment services. We have provided community-based substance abuse prevention and treatment services to residents of Evanston, Northfield, New Trier, Maine and Niles Townships, and the north side of Chicago since 1975. PEER Services is licensed to provide substance abuse treatment by the Illinois Department of Human Services’ Division of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse. PEER Services is also certified by the National Center for Substance Abuse Treatment and accredited by the Joint Commission, which is recognized as the gold standard for healthcare organizations throughout the country. We are staffed by highly trained specialists in the field of substance abuse prevention and treatment and we use cutting-edge, effective, research-based treatment methods. Our prevention team includes prevention specialists who have received State and National training in evidence-based strategies. Our interdisciplinary treatment team includes a physician, nurses, masters level counselors, certified addiction counselors, and family therapists. We use a holistic approach to treatment, recognizing that substance use can impact a person’s body, mind, and spirit. Since 1975, we have helped transform the lives of thousands of teens and adults as they open the door to a healthier, brighter future. Each life we save helps to strengthen a family as well as a community.
