Details: Project Aurora is a comprehensive substance abuse service designed totally for women and their families. Our goal is to help women recover from chemical dependency. Aurora women participate in day treatment or intensive outpatient groups for drug treatment, relapse prevention, and developing interpersonal skills. Most also receive individual and family counseling, crisis intervention, assistance with prenatal and medical care, parenting classes, aftercare groups, assistance in finding food security, jobs, and housing; and assistance with transportation to treatment and medical appointments. Women in need of on-going mental health treatment will be referred to YFS therapists as appropriate. Aurora recovery services are enhanced by the Children’s Therapeutic Recovery Center (Building Blocks). Ancillary and prevention services such as: information and referrals for potential clients, groups, community events, classroom presentations, outreach, etc. are a part of our daily services to the community.
