Details: The First Step House of Orange Co., Inc. is a non-profit organization that oversees the operation of Charle Street and the McMillen Houses. They all are recovery and transitional social model facilities in Costa Mesa, CA. The three residences serve the local communities by assisting indigent men suffering from severe drinking problems. ‘Charle Street’ is a short-term residential facility providing caring support, room, board, toiletries, and clothing for up to twenty-one recovering alcoholics. It is the only facility of its kind in Orange County that offers this scope of assistance free of charge to the men it serves. ‘Charle Street’ is managed by an all-volunteer committee of sober, kind, and devoted men. The majority of these Committee men are former residents; now active and productive members of the community they gratefully give back to.
