Details: California Drug Counseling Inc. (CADC) is a Sec. 501(c)(3) nonprofit, licensed* community-based substance abuse treatment and counseling center. CADC began in 1977 and received its first major grant in 1989 from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which provided for incarcerated and paroled youth to be educated about and become peer educators on HIV/AIDS. Since then, we have continued to provide outpatient education, counseling and support to individuals with alcohol and substance abuse problems, helping them become productive members of their community. Our projects include a number of contracts with Federal and State sources. We focus on meeting the needs of hard-to-reach, difficult and underserved populations in Los Angeles County, including currently or formerly incarcerated individuals.
