Details: Cri-Help, Inc., a California 501(c)(3) independent nonprofit organization, maintains an ongoing commitment to providing quality prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation services for Southern California communities coping with substance use and co-occurring mental disorders. The agency defines addiction as a treatable disease, requiring an evidence-based, multi-disciplinary and evolving approach of individualized, integrated and comprehensive treatment combined with recovery community support. Cri-Help’s mission-based emphasis is to assure access to treatment for those who are economically disadvantaged, underserved, and/or homeless. This priority is embedded in Cri-Help’s mission, stating that no fewer than 51% of treatment opportunities are reserved for persons who are uninsured and unable to pay for behavioral health care. Founded in 1987, Socorro addresses the growing needs of the Latino community. We provide a full range of chemical dependency treatment services for adults 18 and over in both English and Spanish, breaking down language barriers that are often obstacles to obtaining treatment. Socorro offers the ideal design of an effective 12-Step Treatment program in conjunction with evidenced-based practices that are presented in a culturally relevant manner. Socorro is located on a full square block property in Lincoln Heights, less than a mile east of Los Angeles County / USC Hospital. The facility contains thirty-eight dorm-style rooms, group therapy rooms, a large dining area, recreation and entertainment rooms, classrooms, a computer lab, literacy library, and gym. The luscious outdoor area provides ample space for clients and includes a basketball and volleyball court.
