Details: Substance Abuse Counseling Center (SACC): The goal of the Outpatient treatment program is to reduce problematic use of drugs and alcohol through an education and counseling approach that focuses on increasing the member's awareness of his or her relationship with alcohol and other drugs. Treatment introduces life-skills, surrounding choices, motivation of positive attitude and behavioral changes thereby increasing the client's ability to make responsible decisions about the use of alcohol and other drugs in their life. Substance Abuse problems are viewed as safety and performance issues. Emphasis is placed on recovering Marine Corps core values through the process of education and self-awareness; leading to goals of enhanced safety, peak performance, in all areas of the individual's life, and responsible use of alcohol. Sometimes, in some cases, the only responsible choice may be abstinence. SACC staff is available to assist individuals in maintaining responsible drinking patterns and coordinate care for those with substance dependancy issues.
