Details: For over forty years, The Haven has helped thousands of women recover from substance use disorders in a residential setting. The Haven is a comprehensive therapeutic individual treatment plan that melds outside support groups with intensive individual, group and psycho educational therapy. Children and their mothers no longer need be separated in order for mothers to participate in residential treatment. The Haven's philosophy is that substance use disorders and addictive behavior can be arrested – permanently with proper treatment and a planned individualized treatment. We believe that women have unique issues that can be resolved with a recovery plan that is uniquely designed for women. A distinctive aspect of The Haven is that we encourage women with a recovery plan to have their children with them when it is appropriate and possible. These two aspects - a program for women, and the inclusion of the children in their mothers' recovery - are what make The Haven special.
