Details: For more than three decades, Compass Behavioral Health Care has been a leader in quality and affordable behavioral health care in Southern Arizona. Our continuum of care begins with prevention and early intervention, and emphasizes reaching those who are most at risk and vulnerable-- Tucson children and adolescents. Acute care for adults is provided at our detoxification center, Desert Hope. Continuing treatment and stabilization services are provided at our residential centers-- the Joan E. McNamara Center for New Directions and Vida Serena. Our available outpatient services further recovery and prevent relapse for individuals, groups and families. And, because Compass believes that housing IS healthcare, permanent and transitional housing programs are provided at Safe Harbor, Libertad and Vida Nueva. Desert Hope Detoxification Center provides a medically supervised environment for adult men and women to physically and psychologically withdraw from alcohol and other drugs in a safe and comfortable environment. Once physical withdrawal has begun, clients attend group and individual sessions that begin a plan to establish All services at Desert Hope, including assessment, are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Individuals may call or walk in to receive services. Nursing staff are present at all times, and a physician is on staff. All services are determined and delivered using American Society of Addiction Medicine patient placement criteria.
