Details: The Addiction Recovery Program at UAB is a place where individuals struggling with alcohol, drug, and substance abuse can find a helping hand, a network of support, and the first step toward a fresh start. Our experienced, compassionate staff tailors each patient’s recovery to his or her unique needs. Renowned specialists, innovative treatments, advanced research, and state-of-the-art medicine unite to bring holistic and compassionate care to each person we treat. UAB Addiction Recovery is based within The Center for Psychiatric Medicine at UAB, which is staffed by more than 1,000 experts in 35 medical fields, including psychiatrists, psychologists, and mental health professionals from the UAB Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neurobiology. The Addiction Recovery program is helmed by our medical director, a medical doctor who specializes in addiction recovery. Our knowledgeable and caring staff is comprised of licensed and certified counselors and social workers who work individually and in groups with patients to provide thoughtful and thorough treatment of addiction.
