Description: The Minnesota Department of Human Services has been a pioneer in delivering addiction treatment services since 1912. We developed the Minnesota Model which has been adopted as a standard for treatment delivery by organizations throughout the world. Our professional staff has continued to work at the forefront of the addiction recovery fi eld ensuring high quality, best practices throughout our statewide system of care. All services use person centered treatment planning. Counseling staff have all received training in motivational interviewing. In addition to specialty programs, each site provides family programming, relapse prevention, continued care programming and monitoring of medication assisted therapy for both mental health and addiction needs as well as physical health needs in collaboration with community providers. C.A.R.E., in partnership with others, creates a dynamic system of services to address substance use disorders that is innovative and responsive to emerging best practice and promotes recovery for people with complex needs and challenges within each person served in an empowering environment of learning and respect.
