Phase I: Recognize the negative impact chemical use has had in all of their life areas, spiritually, physically, emotionally and socially; Become aware of self-defeating behavior patterns and distorted thinking; Start taking personal responsibility for their lives. Phase II: Build on personal strengths; Initiate behavior changes necessary for an abstinence-based lifestyle; Through cognitive skills work address the negative patterns and replace them with a more positive outlook; Identify personal relationship concerns. Phase III: Learn to implement positive strategies to prevent relapse; Develop an aftercare plan that helps promote a spiritual and holistic recovery program. |
