Since 2000, the program has been serving teens from the ages of 10-20 years old that are using alcohol and other drugs. Since 2006, the program has been able to continue to provide services in collaboration with local juvenile court systems, local school districts and other youth serving community agencies. A unique aspect of this program is that the program therapists go directly to the youth. This reduces barriers for youth and families who have financial and transportation challenges. Nexus is a prevention program that identifies the strengths and needs of youth and their families to stop behaviors that lead youth to juvenile justice system. The program provides mental health and substance abuse screening services to at-risk youth. Early intervention is the key to helping youth and families develop healthier coping skills and positive relationships. |

Our organization has been serving the tri-county area since the late 1950’s with our origination as the Tri-County Council on Alcoholism. In 1967 a Halfway House Council was formed to address issues regarding community members who were chronically addicted and homeless. The Holden House was secured to serve men and soon after the Glass House was secured to serve women with residential programs to address provision of safe shelter, life skills training and treatment for substance use disorders. At that time Halfway House Council and Tri-County Council on Alcoholism combined and sought affiliation to become the National Council on Alcoholism’s affiliate in the Lansing Regional Area. Our organization served under the name of National Council on Alcoholism - Lansing Regional Area Inc. from 1967 to 2016 when the organization re-branded to become Mid-Michigan Recovery Services Inc., the regional affiliate of National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence to ensure that the community and regional area recognized our longstanding and dedicated service to all who struggle with substance use disorders whether it is primarily alcohol or other drugs. |

The Recovery Center is an 11 bed clinically managed detoxification program designed to provide a safe, caring environment that assists individuals during the detox process from alcohol and other drugs, while promoting health and well being. All interested individuals will receive a pre-screening by the program for appropriateness. After a person is stabilized and no longer at risk for withdrawal, The Recovery Center supports continued recovery efforts by connecting the individual with next level of care treatment providers, such as substance use disorder residential or outpatient treatment services and support groups. Transfers to next level of care for men can be made to residential substance use disorder treatment at the CMHA CEI, House of Commons (HOC) in Mason, Michigan. HOC is available for up to 90 days of treatment. Referrals are also made to women’s residential programs and other men’s residential programs as requested. Some transportation is made available to residential treatment programs in the Lansing area. |
