Treatment provides you with the tools necessary for you to gain an understanding of the disease of chemical dependency and to develop the skills necessary to establish a drug-free life. The residential program can be short-term, thirty (30) days, up to long term, ninety (90) days. Your progress will be evaluated in increments of 30 days. During your stay, patients will meet with their counselor on at least a weekly basis to discuss treatment planning, homework assignments, and group attendance. A Residential Counselor helps to rebuild the lives of patients while helping the patients manage the negative aspects of their drug and alcohol use. QBH uses evidence based interventions to educate and support patients in developing the insight, awareness, and skills necessary to transform their lives. Counselors’ responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Meeting with patients to evaluate substance abuse problems and health concerns; Identifying issues related to substance use to create a treatment plan; Educate patients on healthy coping skills; Crisis Intervention; Assist patients in securing or re-establish a career; Helping patients apply for medical insurance; Case Management; Monitoring the stage of change the patient is in to promote sobriety; Setting aftercare appointments with the DWMHA for transitional housing and outpatient; Providing continuity of care with all legal entities, medical establishments and QBH staff. They participate in twelve-step recovery meetings, and are encouraged to continue such participation following their departure from Jefferson House. The program also provides opportunity to work at other Capuchin Soup Kitchen locations, for which the men are paid a modest stipend. New residents to Jefferson House are admitted via referral from inpatient substance abuse treatment programs. Jefferson House is accredited by CARF International and is one of the top 3% of therapeutic communities who received no recommendations for needed program revisions during CARF's most recent triennial accreditation review. |

Emmanuel House operates an 80 bed Transitional Housing Program, a 20 bed Recovery Program and a 20 bed Emergency Shelter program. Emmanuel House provides daily programs and services to over 100 homeless men and women Veterans. Of this population 87% have a substance dependency and or a mental health diagnosis. Currently, Emmanuel House (E House) is the Number One, Grant and Per Diem, Transitional Housing Program in the City of Detroit. Emmanuel House provides programs in a drug free facility where men and women can began the process of re-building their lives and embarking on the journey towards obtaining permanent housing and a drug/alcohol free lifestyle. There are daily opportunities for Peer-To-Peer Mentoring, AA/NA meetings, Life Skills and Life Management Workshops, In-House Dinning, and weekly individual and group therapies. Upon entering the program, therapeutic and personal goals are identified and every client is Case Managed until discharging into permanent housing. Our Case Management Program is designed to help our Veterans through the legal system, employment and career training, with child support and visitation issues and we provide debt counseling and money management. In FY 2014 Emmanuel House had an 86.5% success rate for managing clients from homelessness into permanent housing. The IOP is open Monday through Friday and patients are required to attend a minimum of twenty-two (22) hours of IOP services per week. There are both morning and afternoon sessions. Treatment modalities include education, individual therapy, group therapy, family therapy, recreational therapy, stress management programs, etc. Intensive Outpatient Program-Domicile (IOP-D) refers to the same level of treatment but the individual is provided with Room and Board and is expected to follow the rules and guidelines of the Residential Program. Traditional Outpatient Services include individual and family counseling, by appointment only, for individuals who do not need the structured environment to actively participate in services. Specific treatment options are available for individuals who have special needs in the areas of relapse preventions and emotional health. Psychiatric services are also available for evaluations and medicinal reviews. |
