Description: The detoxification program is a 2-week, inpatient program for homeless adults and other individuals with a substance abuse problem. Aftercare counseling and support are also available. The detoxification unit provides 24-hour nursing care and observation for clients that are detoxing from drugs and alcohol. The length of stay varies per client, though the average is 4 to 6 days for the detoxification program. An aftercare plan is developed for everyone who completes the program and clients are offered help with aftercare placement and treatment. The detoxification program is licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. Community Healthlink’s detoxification program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF).

Description: JEREMIAH'S INN IS A 29 BED TRANSITIONAL SOCIAL MODEL SUBSTANCE ABUSE TREATMENT PROGRAM SERVING ADULT MEN. This is a program of experiential learning that is peer oriented. Everyone gives and receives help. Residents in this program work with their case manager to develop individual service plans that give focus to their efforts. The residents share rooms, receive meals, have access to clothing, and participate in programs and services that move them closer to their goals. Participants contribute $10 per day for program fees which help offset the cost of the program. In most cases we are able to accept food stamps as a method of payment for program fees. We also have a Resident Work Program in which 4 residents are able to receive assistance with program fees if they are having financial difficulty.

Description: Spectrum’s outpatient counseling program serves adults and adolescents with chronic substance abuse and/or mental health issues, targeting the specific risk factors commonly associated with addiction and mental illness. Counselors begin by engaging the individual in order to build trust, acceptance and mutual respect. Active treatment is used to build the skills needed for recovery. Relapse prevention training, comprehensive aftercare planning and linkages to community resources help facilitate sustained recovery following discharge. Spectrum provides outpatient opiate treatment. Same-day admission is available at all of our opiate treatment programs according to a set schedule. This allows clients to complete the intake, physical exam, and toxicology requirement on the same day; if appropriate, clients may also receive their first dose of medication. The admission process may take 3 to 4 hours to complete. Methadone, Suboxone or Vivitrol are available for detoxification and/or longer-term maintenance. All clients receive a comprehensive clinical assessment and complete medical evaluation, medical monitoring, daily onsite dispensing, individualized treatment planning, educational services, and individual, group and/or family counseling. Active treatment planning and support services help ensure sustained recovery.

Spectrum also offers an intensive outpatient treatment program at the Merrick Street clinic in Worcester, Massachusetts. This more intensive program involves two group and one brief individual session each day, in addition to family groups and more in depth individual sessions on a weekly basis. The duration of the program is a minimum of three weeks. Spectrum provides outpatient opiate treatment. Spectrum’s driver alcohol education program is a 16-week educational program for individuals with a first conviction of Driving Under the Influence (DUI). Clients are court-referred and participation is mandatory. Clients must attend sixteen 2-hour group sessions and two AA Meetings while abstaining from alcohol and other drug use.

Description: Y.O.U., Inc.’s Adolescent Substance Abuse Services include a continuum of treatment options including assessment, intensive outpatient groups (IOP/SOAP), outpatient groups, relapse prevention, individual and family therapy, and drug screening. The programs blend techniques such as motivational interviewing, cognitive and behavioral therapy, and therapeutic recreation activities – all designed to meet the unique needs of adolescents at every stage of their treatment and recovery. The Adolescent Substance Abuse programs recognize that a youth’s substance abuse is often connected to their personal history, environment, and other life stressors. The programs place a strong emphasis on treating those factors, which can include depression, PTSD, ADHD, and anxiety disorders. Clients are also introduced to the philosophy and values of Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous, which further strengthens the youth’s partnership with community resources which can help them to maintain their sobriety in the long term. The Substance Abuse Services treatment team consists of licensed clinicians (LMFT, LICSW, LMHC) and graduate-level interns, with direct consultation from the agency’s Medical Director, who is a board-certified Child Psychiatrist. The Substance Abuse Services programs serve both male and female clients between the ages of approximately 13 and 18 (if currently enrolled in school or a GED program).
