The unique 60-day program is housed at the Boulton Center for Women and Children in Windham. In order to be eligible, women must be pregnant, have children aged 5 or under, or working on family reunification. Crossroads’ CAMP utilizes a relational model of treatment that is both gender-responsive and trauma-informed. The highly credentialed staff focuses on an evidence-based curriculum that includes Seeking Safety, A Woman’s Way Through the Twelve Steps, motivational interviewing and relapse prevention therapy. Co-occurring mental health issues are addressed along with substance abuse. As part of its on-going effort to improve program performance and its obligations as a grantee of SAMHSA funding, Crossroads collects de-identified data on clients in CAMP who are pregnant or have children under the age of one. Our data shows that: The percentage of women who complete treatment is higher than the national average for similar programs; Women in the program made statistically significant clinical gains in addressing depression, strengthening relationships and increasing emotional stability; 95% of clients reported they would refer a friend or family member to the program for treatment; 98% of clients reported the program gave them tools to deal more effectively with daily problems; 98% of clients reported an improved understanding of good parenting skills; 7% of family members reported the program increased their understanding of their loved one’s substance abuse and mental health issues.
