Northwest Regional Center For Addictive Disorders Location: Shreveport, LA - 71129 Contact Phone: (318) 632-2040 Website: http://www.nwrcad07.blogspot.com/ Description: In November 1970, the Northwest Regional Center for Addictive Disorders (NWRCAD) began as the Shreveport Alcoholism Clinic and Counseling Service. The Shreveport Alcoholism Clinic and Counseling Service opened for business January 1971. In 1983, Shreveport Alcoholism Clinic and Counseling Service moved to Bossier, consolidate with the Bossier City Substance Abuse Clinic, and then named Bossier-Shreveport Substance Abuse Clinic. In March 1989, the Bossier-Shreveport Substance Abuse Clinic moved to 6244 Greenwood Road in west Shreveport adjacent to the Pines Treatment Center as the Northwest Regional Alcohol and Drug Abuse Clinic. In July of 1999, the Clinic moved to its present location as Northwest Regional Center for Addictive Disorders. Our outreach programs provide outpatient substance abuse treatment services for Louisiana residents living in Caddo, Bossier, DeSoto, Red River, Bienville, Claiborne, and Webster Parishes. We also make referrals to inpatient facilities. |

Services include geriatric psychiatric care, adult psychiatry and individual and family therapy. The Institute’s Addiction Recovery Center has an excellent record in the treatment of substance abuse among adults with inpatient medical detox, outpatient and evening programs. The Institute’s team includes psychiatrists, other physicians, psychologists, licensed counselors, social workers, nurses, occupational therapists and family therapists. Dependence on drugs or alcohol can be disastrous. It threatens the life and safety of the abusers, their families, and, often, the community. In spite of the frustration and confusion associated with these problems, it is important to know that recovery from addiction can, and does, happen regularly...and with long-term positive results. Our Intensive Outpatient Program serves both patients and their families as they learn to cope with and recover from alcoholism and addiction to other drugs. Our program provides both group and family therapy, and focuses on relapse prevention, healthy coping skills, and communication skills needed for successful recovery. Depending on the needs of the individual, our staff also provides treatment for depression, anxiety, grief, post-traumatic stress, bipolar disorder and other mood and behavioral issues. The Addiction Recovery Center offers a no-charge assessment prior to admission. Treatment may begin at any level of care, from early detox to support after inpatient rehab, depending on the severity of the addiction. |
