Hope Center - Ball-quantrell Jones Recovery Center For Women Location: Lexington, KY - 40504 Contact Phone: (859) 252-2002 Website: http://www.hopectr.org Description: The success of the men’s recovery program led many in the community to urge the Hope Center to open a similar program for women. In 2002, the Hope Center opened a new residential facility at 1524 Versailles Road to house the Recovery Program for Women. The Recovery Program for Women is based on the same peer-driven, professionally supervised model as the men’s program. It features SOS (supportive, safe environment to gain sobriety) instead of a detoxification center, adds several gender-specific features, and includes a health clinic. Outcome data indicates that 95 percent of women remain abstinent from drugs and alcohol six months after entering the program. One year after completion of the program, 71 percent remain abstinent from drugs and alcohol. Many of those who relapse use the tools and resources they learned and quickly return to the path of recovery before doing further damage to themselves and others. Recovery from addiction and alcoholism is a process, not a destination. For those who participate in the Hope Center Recovery Programs, every day is an opportunity for growth, change and living a positive, productive life. |

Pathways Inc. - Hillcrest Hall Location: Mount Sterling, KY - 40353 Contact Phone: (859) 498-6574 Website: http://www.pathways-ky.org/ Description: Hillcrest Hall is a long-term (approximately six months) residential adolescent substance abuse treatment program serving 16 chemically-dependent male youth ages 13 to 18. Consumers progress through the four phases of the program up to graduation. Our treatment philosophy at Hillcrest Hall involves active participation in the 12-step programs of Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous. We provide individual and group therapy to counteract relapse by increasing awareness of problems that trigger “using†behavior. Family participation in treatment is necessary to educate families on the disease concept of addiction to promote healthier methods of communication, conflict resolution and interaction, and to introduce families to Al- Anon and Nar-Anon. We accept referrals from across the state of Kentucky, but give priority to the Pathways ten-county area. All consumers come to Hillcrest Hall voluntarily. Eligibility is determined by our multidisciplinary staff members who meet and evaluate the consumer's history, as well as results of the intake interview. Consumers should have completed pre-treatment work in preparation for long-term residential care. This work may be done with an outpatient counselor, school counselor, or social worker. Pre-treatment is the process of working through the denial and unsuccessful attempts at controlled use of the drug, resulting in the awareness that the problems and the substance use are seriously linked to each other. An initial screening can be done by phone. After this screening, if appropriate, a face-to-face interview is arranged. Upon completion of the interview, if appropriate, the consumer is given an admission date. If not appropriate, recommendations are made for a more suitable level of care. Once admitted, the consumer is given a more in-depth two-week evaluation. This includes a detailed addiction assessment, social history, complete medical examination, and psychological and psychiatric evaluations. |

Hope Center - George Privett Recovery Center For Men Location: Lexington, KY - 40508 Contact Phone: (859) 225-4673 Website: http://www.hopectr.org/ Description: More than half of the homeless population in the United States suffers from addiction to drugs or alcohol. Unless their addictions are addressed, they are unlikely to be successful in moving away from homelessness. Since 1996, the Hope Center has operated a highly successful Recovery Program for Men at its facility on West Loudon Avenue. In 2008, the George Privett Recovery Center enabled the Hope Center to expand its men’s recovery program to a 110-bed facility down the street from its previous location. Over a thousand men have successfully completed this program. The program provides a long-term recovery approach that is both peer-driven and professionally supervised. It teaches the Twelve Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous and the Recovery Dynamics curriculum in a community atmosphere that emphasizes both personal responsibility and mutual accountability. The men’s program includes a non-medical, licensed detoxification center that has eight beds and is always open. Hope Center board members and employees have always believed that it is critical to do something – something lasting – for each individual client we serve. Since our doors opened in 1993, we have continued to add and expand programs that address the root causes of each person’s homelessness. |

Wellspring - Journey House Location: Louisville, KY - 40203 Contact Phone: (502) 561-0003 Website: http://www.wellspring-house.org Description: Fifty percent of individuals with severe mental illness are dually diagnosed with a substance abuse disorder. As a result, they have increased symptoms of mental illness, more frequent relapses, less treatment follow-through, more homelessness and victimization, more involvement with the courts and jails, and revolving-door hospitalizations. Wellspring opened Journey House in 1998 to address the needs of Louisville’s dually diagnosed, homeless women who were falling through the cracks of a service system ill-prepared to simultaneously treat these illnesses. Most of these women are also victims of violence, and have experienced multiple failures in treatment and independent living prior to their Journey House stay. Staff is extensively trained in both mental illness and substance abuse treatment. The program provides intensive support to the women as they struggle with the issues of recovery from both illnesses. The average length of stay is 13.5 months for graduates. Journey House was the first residential program in Kentucky specifically designed to serve this population. In 2014 the Journey program was transitioned into scattered site apartments that can house up to 18 women. |
