Description: The Substance Treatment Outpatient Programs (S.T.O.P.) offers a variety of programs and services to address the issues of substance abuse and addictive disorders. Services range from educational programs to inpatient detoxification. Specialized tracts are available for adolescents and dual diagnosis clients. While providing psychiatric and substance abuse services in Wichita, Dr. Ralph Bharati recognized a need for quality, medically supervised, outpatient substance abuse programming. In response to this gap in the continuum of services, Dr. Bharati has initiated S.T.O.P. as a component of his practice. The core philosophy of the program is based on the disease concept of chemical dependency and offers a multi-disciplinary, medical model treatment approach towards addictive disorders.
Wichita Treatment Center
Location: Wichita, KS - 67203
Contact Phone: (877) 637-6237
Website: http://www.crchealth.com/
Description: Located at 939 North Main Street in Wichita, Kansas, the Wichita Treatment Center provides medically supervised methadone maintenance and Suboxone (buprenorphine) detox treatment to individuals who are attempting to overcome an addiction to or dependence upon heroin or other opioids. Methadone hydrochloride is a synthetic "opioid agonist," which means that it acts in a way that is similar to morphine and other narcotic medications. When used in proper doses as part of a medically supervised opioid addiction treatment program, methadone blocks cravings and other withdrawal symptoms without creating the euphoric or sedative states that result from opioid abuse. Buprenorphine is a partial opioid receptor agonist. Like methadone, buprenorphine can relieve opioid withdrawal symptoms without producing the intoxicating effects that are associated with opioid abuse. Buprenorphine was the first medication for the treatment of opioid dependence to be approved under the Drug Addiction Treatment Act of 2000. To be eligible for this type of treatment at the Wichita Treatment Center, prospective patients much be at least 18 years old, and must have been addicted to or dependent upon opiates for a minimum of one year prior to seeking treatment. We accept Medicaid, Medicair and some private pay insurance.

Four County Mental Health Center's Alcohol & Drug Outpatient Treatment Services subscribes to the philosophy that alcohol and drug addiction is a disease which reduces the overall quality of life and endangers physical and mental health. Early intervention is important by treating persons who are abusing alcohol or drugs prior to addiction. However, it is never too late to get help! The Alcohol/Drug Abuse program also believes that alcoholism/addiction is a family disease. The program views treatment of the co-dependency of family members/significant others as an integral part of the treatment program.
