Larry completed graduate studies for Alcohol & Drug Education at the University of Minnesota with high distinction, interning at Hazelden, Abbott-Northwestern Hospital, Target Corporation, and St. Paul-Ramsey Medical Center in St. Paul, Minnesota. He was then hired as a counselor to help develop the dual disorder chemical dependency treatment program at St. Paul-Ramsey. At Ramsey, all of his patients had psychiatric problems in addition to chemical dependency. Larry was then hired to design, implement and direct a new outpatient treatment program at St. Francis Medical Center in northwestern Minnesota.
