At the time he founded Pro-Active Resources, there were very few outpatient counseling or treatment services for chemical dependency in the counties surrounding Indianapolis specifically Hamilton and Hendricks Counties, which has changed dramatically since 1985. Martin’s vision was to provide high quality, clinically effective and cost-efficient services to the citizens of Central Indiana in need of alcohol and drug treatment services. Over the years, he became aware of other related services that were also in great demand so he gradually expanded into anger management and domestic violence programs, a wide range of alcohol and drug education programs, as well as individual, marital (couples), and family counseling for both addictions related issues and non-addiction related issues. Pro-Active Resources rapidly grew to the point that Martin could not provide all of the clinical services by himself, so he began adding other clinicians to the staff. Martin’s vision was to provide high quality, clinically effective and cost-efficient services to the citizens of Central Indiana in need of alcohol and drug treatment services. Pro-Active Resources rapidly grew to the point that Martin could not provide all of the clinical services by himself, so he began adding other clinicians to the staff. Tara’s serene location provides a refuge where individuals can learn a new way of life. At Tara, we believe in a holistic approach that addresses the mind, body and spirit. Most clients have little hope when entering the facility and need to develop a faith in something other than alcohol and/or drugs. The 12-step programs are spiritual in nature and help many to re-establish their faith. For others it may be establishing a faith for the first time. By incorporating concepts of the 12-step programs, evidence based therapy, and psycho-educational components, individuals begin a journey of spiritual, mental, and emotional wellness. Tara’s staff is dedicated and sensitive to the needs of those we serve. We maintain a family atmosphere, which contributes to our success. Tara offers a full continuum of services ranging from the most intensive level of care – Detoxification to the least intensive – Outpatient. In Tara’s diligent quest for continued quality client care, we maintain accreditation by the Joint Commission of Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO). Tara’s highest acclaim, however, comes not from agencies and organizations, but from the individuals and their families whose lives are significantly changed as a result of their experience at Tara. We believe God is the ultimate healer and that through abstinence miracles can happen in an individual’s life. Today, we are here to partner with you as you begin the healing process. |

Amethyst House Inc. - Outpatient Location: Bloomington, IN - 47404 Contact Phone: (812) 336-3570 Website: http://www.amethysthouse.org Description: Amethyst House has a variety of outpatient programs available to address substance abuse and problem gambling issues. Clients need to be clean and sober for a minimum two weeks before starting treatment and maintain abstinence while in the program. We are an abstinence based program. Clients are expected to become involved with Twelve Step recovery programs such as Alcoholics Anonymous (AA), Narcotics Anonymous (NA), and Gamblers Anonymous (GA). Our program also provides support and treatment for family members. To determine the appropriate level of care an assessment is completed utilizing American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) criteria. Once this level is determined an individualized treatment plan is then developed with the client to identify problems and establish objectives to achieve recovery goals. We are committed to keeping our groups and education programs small in order to better serve the individual client. Our groups typically consist of 10 - 12 participants. Treatment utilizes evidenced based practices with an emphasis on Motivational Interviewing, Stages of Change Theory, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. We follow the intensive outpatient program guidelines recommended by SAMHSA (Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration) and DMHA (Indiana Division of Mental Health and Addictions). Additionally, we have developed a menu of groups and services that can be combined -based on the needs of the clients- to equal whatever program requirements may be required by a participant. This style of program allows us to increase or decrease the amount of services based on individual progress and need, much like the multi-level programs used by probation and community corrections programs to provide both incentives and consequences for offenders. |
