Pioneer Center For Human Services
Location: Woodstock, IL - 60098
Contact Phone: (815) 338-7360
Website: http://www.pioneercenter.org/
Description: Pioneer Center delivers direct services to more than 4,800 individuals each year. Fifty-six years ago a mother wanted more for her 7-year-old developmentally disabled daughter. She dared to dream of the opportunity for education and an enriching life for her child. Alongside her, a small group of parents bonded together to create the first day school program in McHenry County for the developmentally disabled. That act of determination led to the creation of the organization that would become Pioneer Center for Human Services. Over the years Pioneer Center underwent a metamorphosis. Once an agency dealing solely in developmental disabilities, it is now the county’s largest social service agency fulfilling the needs of a community.
