Description: Vicki is the founder of Personal Counseling Services (PCS). The agency first opened its doors for business in August of 1991. The goal was to help families and individuals to improve their lives utilizing counseling techniques tailored to the needs of the client. Vicki studied counseling and family systems extensively while in college. She also completed numerous hours of supervision to obtain clinical membership in the American Association of Marriage & Family Therapists as well as her LMFT license. In order to broaden acceptance by a wide number of insurance plans in the 1990's, Vicki also became licensed as a Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in Illinois. This helped expand her knowledge base and abilities as a therapist/counselor. While working on her Masters degree, Vicki did an internship with a substance abuse treatment facility. This led her to becoming a Board Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor. Recognizing how many families are affected by addiction, it seemed a logical choice to continue her work with substance abuse counseling when she began her practice. To this end, Personal Counseling Services became a licensed outpatient substance abuse treatment facility for adolescents and adults in the early 90's. As her practice has grown over the years, Vicki has maintained her love of learning and applying that knowledge to help the clients served at PCS. Being able to draw from a wide variety of skills and experience has been immensely helpful in assisting people improve their lives. It is work that continues to be rewarding for Vicki and associates.
