The Geo Group Inc. - Dupage Interventions Location: Hinsdale, IL - 60521 Contact Phone: (630) 325-5050 Website: http://www.geogroup.com/ Description: DuPage Interventions is a 39-bed residential program specializing in substance abuse treatment for 13 to 18 year-old adolescent males in need to inpatient care. The highly structured program is based on a therapeutic community model that addresses criminal thinking errors, cognitive and behavioral changes and the principles of 12-step recovery. The program provides a safe and healthy environment in which clients can learn and practice sober living skills while examining the issues and barriers that brought them to treatment. Emphasis is placed on developing a strong aftercare plan, including outpatient counseling, 12-step sponsorship, education and relapse prevention. Abraxas Education Group, a private education service, provides individualized special education classes for adolescents. Students at the DuPage Interventions Program participate in a full school day that includes school, emotional and academic programming such as individual counseling, group counseling, character education, goal planning and interpersonal skills training. When students are not in school, we strive to work together with the students’ residential treatment team, as well as the students’ families, to assist students in their recovery. In this unique cooperative arrangement with Downers Grove School District 99, we are able to give our students a district-based curriculum which allows us to provide consistent and appropriate educational opportunities for the students in our care. |
