Va Illiana Healthcare System - Substance Abuse Rehabilitation Program Location: Danville, IL - 61832 Contact Phone: (217) 554-4177 Website: http://www.danville.va.gov/ Description: The Substance Abuse Rehabilitation Program (SARP) is an intensive outpatient program that runs Monday through Friday for six weeks. The Veterans participants while in the treatment usually commute from home, reside at the Salvation Army in Champaign, or reside in our Psychosocial Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Program (PRRTP). Travel assistance may be available to those commuting from home. While there is never a wait for program admission, there may be some wait time for entry to Salvation Army or PRRTP. Short of full participation in the six week program, SARP is able to tailor a schedule to meet a Veteran’s schedule and/or travel needs. Veterans interested in the program must be capable of self-care and medically stable prior to acceptance. A two-part screening interview process will be conducted by VA staff to ensure that these criteria are met. SARP provides an alternative to 12-Step Treatment. The goal is to provide a supportive and educational environment to assist veterans in developing new and more effective ways of coping with such problems |
