Kalihi Ymca Outreach Services - Adolescent School-based Services (waipahu High School) Location: Waipahu, HI - 96797 Contact Phone: (808) 848-2494 Website: http://www.kalihi-ymca.org Description: Through funding received from the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Division (ADAD), the Kalihi YMCA Outreach Services provides a school-based substance abuse treatment program. Services are provided to youth attending the following high schools and middle schools: Kailua, Kaimuki, Roosevelt, McKinley, Farrington, Aiea, Moanalua, Waipahu, Campbell, Leilehua, Waialua, Kapolei, Nanakuli and Waianae High Schools; and Ilima, Waialua, Wahiawa, Jarrett, Dole, Central, Kalakaua, Kawananakoa, Stevenson, Aiea, Moanalua, Kapolei, Waipahu and Nanakuli Middle Schools. Youth participate in outpatient substance abuse treatment services. Participants receive between one (1) and eight (8) hours of direct service each week. Youth enrollment is voluntary and services are available to youth who are willing to acknowledge and address the problems they experience that are related to their use of alcohol and other drugs. The program goals are abstinence, learning life skills and developing an awareness of how substance use affects their lives. Services include individual/group sessions focusing on substance abuse education, social and life skills, relapse prevention and recreational activities. Counselors conduct follow-up contacts to determine youth's progress at 3 and 6 months after discharge from the program. |
