Description: The Carnes Weeks Center, located on the Foundation's main campus at 58 High Street in Torrington, is the venue of McCall's intensive residential treatment program.The 20-bed recovery program for men and women 18 years of age and older provides each client opportunity to participate in developing her/his own recovery plan. Clients work with their counselors to identify problems, goals and recovery strategies. They meet at least weekly to discuss progress and change. At the close of intensive treatment, together - client and counselor - they design a continuing care plan to support the client's unique recovery needs. Intensive treatment comprises individual and group counseling, alcohol and other drug education, family participation, and introduction to 12-step recovery programs. The length of the program varies depending on each client's needs, usually 21 - 28 days with a maximum stay of 30 days.

Description: McCall House is a 14-bed intermediate residential program whose mission is to help adult men and women in early recovery successfully reintegrate into the community. The focus of treatment is not only relapse prevention, but includes educational, vocational and job placement assistance. This comprehensive recovery program helps residents develop greater self-confidence in their ability to succeed in life and creates more hope for their futures. To help residents develop more productive lives, McCall House staff are developing lasting connections with a number of employers in the Torrington area in order to assist residents locate and maintain better paying jobs. Residents are encouraged to continue their involvement with recovery support systems in the community after they leave McCall house. Approximately 80 men and women are served at McCall House each year with the average length of stay between 10 and 12 weeks. Our statistics indicate that a large majority of our alumni have significantly improved their lives, while at McCall House and after discharge.

Description: Outpatient services offer clients the advantages of living at home and, in many cases, working while participating in a traditional or intensive recovery program. Intensive treatment includes structured individual, family, and group counseling. The program provides alcohol and other drug education and introduction to 12-step program resources. We provide Gender Specific Day Intensive Outpatient Programs for Men and Women. We also provide a trauma specific support group, Seeking Safety, for women.
