Psychiatry Outpatient Services John Dempsey Hospital Location: Farmington, CT - 06030 Contact Phone: (860) 679-2553 Website: http://psychiatry.uchc.edu/ Description: The Adult Psychiatric Outpatient Services clinic at 10 Talcott Notch Road in Farmington offers evaluation and treatment of a wide range of psychiatric disorders for adults ages 18 and over, under the auspices of John Dempsey Hospital. The clinic is handicapped accessible, offers free parking and is located in a modern office building just off the main UConn Health campus in Farmington. We provide essential psychiatric services for approximately 2,500 active patients (nearly 18,000 patient visits annually) who come from all over the state of Connecticut, as many as 75 percent of whom are insured by Medicare and/or Medicaid. We are therefore one of the larger public sector psychiatric clinics in the state. John Dempsey Hospital is licensed by the Connecticut Department of Public Health and accredited by the Joint Commission. Our treatment approaches include medication evaluation and management, as well as individual, family, and group psychotherapy for patients who are likely to benefit from these interventions. Treatment is goal-oriented, using approaches that are supported by clinical research and focused on symptom relief and overall wellness. Our provider staff includes psychiatric residents supervised by faculty psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, clinical psychologists, social workers and other licensed psychotherapists, all practicing in a collaborative, team environment. The clinic is an essential component of the Psychiatry Department of UConn Health as a whole, and we work closely with our clinical partners on the inpatient units and Partial Hospital programs of the John Dempsey Hospital. |
