Our sites are available to women in Santa Paula and Ventura. This program provides intensive day treatment for women who are addicted to alcohol and/ or drugs. This program has been established to support women in their quest to return to work and exit the Welfare System. Miracles for Moms provides help in returning functioning members of their family and the community as a whole. This program consists of four tracks ranging from an Intensive Outpatient program with mandatory attendance 5 days a week, plus individual counseling, to an Introduction and/ or Intervention program with only individual sessions as needed. The education includes addiction, stress management, self esteem, problem solving skills, 12-step support, parenting skills, anger management and communication skills. |

Mr. Booth is also a CAADAC certified clinical supervisor (CS #032-035) of chemical dependency counselors. Paul lives in Ventura and currently works with the Physicians Diversion Program of the Medical Board of the State of California. He also has provided relapse prevention services and family group counseling for Miracle Recovery Home for women for the past six years. He has organized and led men's groups, adult children/codependency and recovery retreats. Paul has worked with the Los Angeles National Council on Alcoholism as a community prevention specialist and the staff therapist and emotional care coordinator for Aids Care, Inc. He was also a teacher at the Health Careers Academy at Rio Mesa High School in Oxnard and a recovery educator for the Ventura Sheriff's Department. His private practice provides therapy for individuals, couples, and families, as well as On-Line Therapy. He also is a designated provider of services for the Dept. of Transportation SAP services to many government, health, and recovery organizations in Ventura County. He has over 17 years experience developing and managing prominent addiction recovery programs in Southern California. Our goal is to reduce the number of teenagers in Ventura County who abuse alcohol and drugs; to intervene with youth most at risk of serious health, family and legal problems due to substance abuse; and to collaborate with other agencies in fostering healthy life-style choices by youth and in bringing a broad range of services for youth and families into each community. We provide a non-residential adolescent prevention/intervention/treatment program in local communities throughout Ventura County. The program consists of group, family and individual youth counseling, a weekly teen 12-step recovery meeting, drug-awareness and intervention groups in high schools, parent education and support groups, family case management (in two of the collaborative grant programs) and school or community presentations on substance abuse among youth. High-risk youth are referred by Juvenile Probation Officers, Juvenile Court Judges, parents, teachers, school counselors, group homes and other community agencies when substance abuse is known or suspected to be a problem. Counselors (Certified Addiction Treatment Specialists) assess the severity of using patterns and related behaviors, and work with the youth primarily in weekly group sessions. These sessions combine peer discussion of personal experiences of the harmful effects of drugs and alcohol with clear data about the danger, and a combination of support and pressure to change behaviors. Every effort is made to keep the youth in the program for a minimum of six months, because we have found this to be an essential amount of time to change attitudes and behaviors when the youth are seen only once or twice a week. |
